Spring and fall are two of the best times to visit the Outpost. The air is crisp, with a silkiness not experienced at any other time of year, the crowds are gone and kids are in school. Spring is the best time for river rafting and fall is the best time for elk bugling and viewing the spectacular autumn leaves . In the winter, guests can experience world-class skiing at Winter Park. You might choose the thrills of skiing The Divide at Berthoud Pass or try out the gentler slopes of Sol Vista. Plan to take a day for dog sledding, a hot air balloon tour, snowmobiling, or snow shoeing.

Cross country skiing is just out the Outpost's front door on our small trail or just down the road at Devil's Thumb and Snow Mountain Ranch.
